Here is how to collect your own horse hair for custom items.  It's as easy as 1 2 3.
Necklaces need approx. 30 inches of tail hair and bracelets need aprox. 15 inches of tail hair.  Earings are usually made from the scraps and hair only needs to be approx. 5 inches long and can use mane or tail hair.

Step One:

Grab the longest hairs from the bottom of your horse's tail and find where they join the tail bone.  Select a bunch of hair about 2 pencils width (for one project) and brush it free of tangles.

Step Two:

Taking sharp scissors, cut off the hair as close to the tail bone as you can.

Step 3:

Picture
Secure the cut end with a small rubber band and neatly coil it into a plastic bag for mailing or delivery.
